Installation and Service:
A certified gas technician must install all propane and natural gas units according to the installation instructions.
Any issues with the burner or gas line must be serviced by a certified technician.
Once gas connections are complete, insert the burner tray into your fire pit.
Ensure the fire pit is on a level surface with access to a fuel source. For electrical ignition burners, ensure access to an electrical source.
Arranging Lava Rock and Decorative Stone:
Avoid covering the burner holes as much as possible.
Lava Rock: Place the provided lava rock directly on the burner's surface before adding decorative stone.
Decorative Stone: Distribute beach stone or crushed glass over the lava rock, covering the entire surface.
Usage Notes:
Lava rock and beach stone are natural products and may occasionally crack or pop when heated.
For the first use, burn the fire pit for 1-2 hours while maintaining a safe distance in case of breakage or popping.
Deposits of magnesium and iron may appear on beach stones, especially on lighter stones. This is a natural reaction to heat and not a defect.
Maintenance:
To reduce sooting, avoid placing rocks or stones directly above the flame. Soot can be removed by gently washing the stones with mild soap and water.
Clean concrete with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasives or strong chemicals. Clean spills immediately by blotting with a damp white towel. For persistent stains, contact Dekko for a color-matched touch-up kit. Avoid using blue-colored soaps as they will stain.
Protection:
Use the Commercial Grade Weather Cover to protect and preserve your fire pit. Custom-designed to fit your fire pit, these covers help prolong its lifespan when not in use.
Note: The cover is not fire-resistant. Do not place the cover over hot stones, as this will cause damage.
